We took a custom itinerary, 2 week “Croatian Odyssey” this past May/June planned with Adriatic Experience. From our first email exchange and phone conversation they listened to what we were looking for and made excellent suggestions. They were prompt in replying and accommodating as we made decisions and even changed our minds a couple of times.
We are very selective about hotels, preferring small luxury hotels with local character and personal service, our agency made excellent suggestions to us for this. They are very knowledgeable about hotels, activities and restaurants throughout Croatia. In advance of our trip we were provided with a detailed custom itinerary for the arrangements we had agreed on, this itinerary included photos of and background on each of the cites we would be visiting as well as descriptions of the scheduled activities and hotel properties in addition to restaurant suggestions-very helpful.
The driver they arranged was the best, not only a safe driver but a knowledgeable and charming man. In each city we had local guides for city tours and outings and these were excellent as well, knowledgeable, personable and accommodating.
Some highlights were Truffle hunting in Istria, sailing through the islands on a private catamaran, meals in Croatia’s finest restaurants and the extraordinary beauty of the Dalmatian Coast.
I think this travel agency must be well regarded by hotels and restaurants in Croatia as we always seemed to get the best rooms or tables. Our AE host stayed in touch with us during our trip, just to assure everything went smoothly, which it did.
I would highly recommend AE for planning individual/personalized travel in Slovenia and Croatia. I would certainly use them again if we are fortunate enough to return to Croatia.
