. . . Characteristic island winery with international panache
Jako Vino is a recently refurbished winery in Bol on Brac island (where the famous Golden Horn beach is). The winery was built in 1903. Calling its wine Stina (from the white Brac stone), it has some very good cuvee’s, Plavac Mali, white varietals and a very nice tasting room, where you can also buy packaged for travel.
Jako Vino has spent recent years renovating and replanting its old vineyards on the steep slopes above Bol. Ask them for a tour of the vineyards – you won’t be disappointed, but be prepared for a steep ride.
Today Jako Vina produces about 11 labels from primarily three Dalmatian varietals; Plavac Mali, Pošip, and Vugava. including a nice Rose (Opal).
