“Best wine tour and holiday we have had”
Our wine group travels every year to a different country to experience the wine & culture. This year we were 3 couples, all in our 50s. Our wine tour to Croatia was truly the best trip we have had. We stayed at the villa in Duboka Bay for 10 days and took wine tours on 4 days – on Brac island, Hvar island, Peljesac Peninsula and a wine dinner in Split.
The sailing to Hvar and Split for our wine tours was the coup de grace. Everything Adriatic Experience did for us, from planning our tours to our arrival by boat and the attention to detail on the organization was amazing. We got to see so many wineries, which were all very different and had great wines we had never even heard of before. Adriatic Experience clearly knows their wines & their groups – they tailored the entire vacation to us. And the food, especially from Maggie at Senjkovic winery, the dinner at Paradigma and the wine & food pairing at St. Hills allowed us to taste new Dalmatian cuisine.
We also had an amazing traditional “Peka’ dinner at the villa. Nina picked the wines and Jerko outdid himself and was very nice about showing us how he prepared the traditional dishes. The seafood risotto was one the of best I have ever had – he shopped at the large Split fish market for fresh shell fish.
Our “down” days in the villa were relaxing and wonderful to bask in the sun and the sea in the bay is unbelievable – such clear water, you can see 100 feet deep. And the villa is designed well for allowing privacy and plenty of places to gather together. Each couple took their own floor. We had the attic suite, which was perfect for us – plenty of room and spectacular view over the bay.
Finally the wines Nina picked for the house were such a treat – we got to taste a lot of wines from all over Croatia, not just the wineries on the tour.
We will be back with more from our wine club. Next time we are going to try a wine sail. We recommend Adriatic Experience for any type of vacation you want – they listen well and designed a great experience.
We really had no complaints, except that next time we might stay longer because we did a lot in just 10 days. After being in Duboka Bay I think we would have liked to spend more time there, especially since we could cook ourselves (the villa is very well equipped) and always have Jerko come when we wanted a treat. – – – 2014 San Francisco Wine Clubbers
“Fantastic Wine & Sail Day on Hvar”
Sailing from Brac to Hvar for wine tasting was the highlight of our trip. The yacht was large and comfortable and the sailing fun. But our visit to Dubokovic winery topped it all off. The owner, Ivo, was great, he was so hospitable and we tasted every wine – each with its own story. We will definitely be back to do a longer wine sail. Croatian wine was a great find for us. – – – 2014 Family from England
"50th Birthday Wine Sail"
I don’t know where to begin. We sailed from Split to Korcula, wine tasting on Brac island, Hvar island and the Wine Peninsula, Peljesac. Adriatic Experience organized everything well in advance and it went off without a hitch. We had great food, great wine and got to meet the winery owners and felt like we got a real glimpse into a new and exciting world of wine. We had a lot of wine tours with local dishes at every winery. The dinners were pre-arranged and we got a wide variety of experiences from top notch restaurants to local family cellars.
There were 8 of us plus the skipper and wine hostess, who was knowledgable and friendly – nothing was too much trouble for her. Obviously she knew the winery owners and the areas thoroughly. We chose the Hanse 575 sailing yacht, which was amazing – spacious and like new, plenty of room for us on deck and in the cabins and heads.
We would do this again in a heartbeat and highly recommend Adriatic Experience if you want the best holiday and service. — Friends and Family from New York
Every year we holiday on Brac island in Duboka Bay. Our holiday is never complete without a visit to our favorite winery, Senjkovic. It is always a treat to see what new they are doing. Now we order our Rose wine from them a year in advance because it is so popular. Sasha and Maggie are hospitable and friendly. Maggie makes delightful hors d’oeuvres and is constantly experimenting with new treats with very fresh and natural ingredients. — Family from Austria
