Plitvice Lakes National Park

In the heartland of Croatia, lies one of nature's magnificent wonders

The spectacular green forests, natural undergrowth and series of beautiful lakes and waterfalls are truly inspiring.

It is easy to see why Plitvice Lakes is a UNESCO World Heritage.   The 16 interlinked lakes are divided into the upper and lower lakes surrounded by thick forests stippled with waterfalls and natural cascades.  The well groomed pathways, wooden walkways and boat system make it easy for guests of all ages to enjoy this unforgettable experience.

Just a few of hours from Split, our 2 or 3 day tours include private transportation, walking/boat tour of the park, overnight stays at charming Bed and Breakfasts or local small hotels.

On the 3 day tour, we stop in Rastoke, a picturesque village situated where the Slunjcica River flows over travertine rocks into the Korana River.   A well kept secret, Rastoke is a natural preserve with old water mills & traditional wooden houses built on the river, which cascades through the village.  The river forms small lakes, rapids and waterfalls in the surrounding area.  The river is also abundant with wild trout, which is served fresh with local wine and olive oil in the local restaurants.  In Croatia, they say the fish swim 3 times – in the river, in the olive oil and in the wine.
